saturn

$SAT · proof of work · mainnet is live

Saturn is a coin you can actually mine.

It's a proof-of-work coin forked from Bitcoin Core. The chain is running, there's a public pool and a block explorer, and the desktop app runs a node, makes your wallet and mines for you.

The boring details

Everything you need to point something at the network.

Saturn Core, the desktop app

One installer. It runs a built-in Saturn node, creates and backs up your wallet, generates addresses, and mines to the pool with automatic worker names. Pool stats and network status show up live in the window.

It's a beta, so expect some rough edges. If something breaks, open an issue on GitHub and I'll look at it.

Until the Mac and Linux apps land, you can build the node from source or point a miner at the pool. Both are below.

Already have a miner?

Anything that speaks SHA-256d over stratum can connect to the pool. Use your SAT address as the username.

# point cpuminer at the pool

cpuminer -a sha256d \
  -o stratum+tcp://pool.saturn.boats:3333 \
  -u YOUR_SAT_ADDRESS -p x

# or build and run your own node

git clone https://github.com/saturn-cash/saturn
cd saturn
./autogen.sh && ./configure && make
./src/saturnd -daemon
./src/saturn-cli getblockchaininfo
